Origin

GlycoNex Inc. was founded in 2001. Through the technology collaboration with the Biomembrane Institute (TBI) and Dr. Sen-itiroh Hakomori in the US. GlycoNex was a pioneer in Taiwan who combines “glycosphingolipid antigen” and “human monoclonal antibody (mAb) technologies” to develop cancer drugs.

Present

GlycoNex Inc. has continued to focus on the development of innovative antibody drugs, currently focusing on three major areas: antibody-drug conjugates (ADC), pro-antibodies, and biosimilars. Our first ADC product GNX1021 is currently undergoing preparations for clinical trial. And our biosimilar SPD8, jointly developed with Mitsubishi Gas Chemical of Japan, has completed the first phase of clinical trial in Japan and has entered the third phase of clinical trial. The company also continues to expand the CDMO services, and has built the 200L antibody production capacity that complies with GMP standards, with the ability to manufacture antibody drug for first-phase clinical trial.

Future

Holding “Professional, Dedication, Excellence” as our motto, GlycoNex will keep pursuing the goal of enhancing human health and welfare. In the meanwhile, we will continuously develop new mAbs drugs and biosimilar products. We welcome potential partners to discuss about international license or cooperation opportunities.

Dr. Tong-Hsuan Chang earned his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Tokyo and pursued postdoctoral research in the U.S., focusing on allergy, hormone receptors, and monoclonal antibodies. He founded and led the Biomedical Group at Syncor International Inc., later returned to Taiwan as Visiting Professor at National Taiwan University and Director of Immunology at the Development Center for Biotechnology. In 2001, he founded GlycoNex Inc. and currently serves as Chairman.
